Walk Worthy

 Dear Parents,

It’s the last fund raiser of the school year!  “Walk Worthy” will take place on:

 Friday, May 14 from 12:30 –2:30 pm.

This is a new date and time this year! Our goal is to make participation available to more of our students as well as offset the busyness of Saturday mornings this time of the year.

Pledge forms will be sent home on Friday, April 30 for  Elementary students and they will be available for MS/HS    students in the Administrative Office.  We are asking for pledge forms to be returned by Thursday, May 13.

Procedure for turning in pledge forms and money:  As you complete the pledge forms, please ensure that the student’s name is on the pledge form along with monies in an envelope.  It is also very helpful to put their name and       address on the envelope so we can make sure it gets credited to the correct person.

New dynamic for pledges this year!  We are no longer collecting “money per lap;” instead, we are  asking for a single donation by each sponsor. Please indicate total amount collected on the pledge form when you turn it in.

Who is involved?  ALL are welcome and encouraged to participate or attend.  If you are working, consider taking your lunch hour to be on campus with us!  Student registration (Friday, May 14 - 12:30 –2:30) will begin at 12:30 pm.       Immediately following registration, students will eat lunch, and “the walk” will begin promptly at 1:30.

Rewards and Prizes:  The rewards and prizes have changed to get as many as possible involved.  We also would love to get those outside of the “Freedom community” to sponsor a student.

First Prize will go to the class with the most participants, the most pledges,   and the most money raised.  This class will receive a One Night and Two Day Trip to Camp Aowakiya!  Mr. Gilfillan will be one of the chaperones! This includes costs of all meals and activities! The trip to Camp Aowakiya will take place on Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5.

Second Prize will go to the class with the most participants and the most pledges will  receive a Class Trip to Michigan Adventure! The date for this event is TBD (at the discretion of Mr. Huckaby, Mr. Gilfillan and the classroom teacher).

Third Prize will go to the class with the most participants and will receive an afternoon for a Class BBQ at Hager Park along with a water dunk tank with a teacher/staff member of their choosing! The date for this event will be TBD (at the discretion of Mr. Huckaby, Mr. Gilfillan and the classroom Teacher).

A letter was sent out Wednesday, April 28 from Mr. Gilfillan explaining the financial importance of this event.  Please consider joining us on this afternoon as we come together as a  school community. This is an opportune time to help  further the mission and ministry of Freedom Christian Schools.
